Something else noteworthy did happen today..... We bought a vehicle!! Yay! I am so excited. Because we have been renting all this time, and it is getting expensive. We actually bought our car from the brother we had been renting off of. He had a 4 Runner that a brother who had been here awhile ago, left behind for him to sell. So we bought it. It is a 2001 with pretty low miles and has only been on the island 10 months. Everyone kept telling us it's better to buy something from the mainland, because they get so beat up here on the island. We really didn't want to have to go to the mainland though, so this worked out. It's pretty crazy though, now we own 2 Toyota 4 Runners! Weird right? It's the perfect island car though, we had to get it. It is rugged for these roads, very dependable, and you can fit a ton of people in it.
We did have a good week in service as well. I think I am up to 4 'good' studies at this point, and Justin has 3. And there is a lot of potential for those numbers to keep growing.
Our landlords are gone for the next 2 weeks. After the assembly they were staying on the mainland for a quickbuild and then elders school. So we have the place to ourselves. We are actually house or apartment hunting. We would really like to move farther east towards the territory. Right now we drive 30-40 mins. to get to Oak Ridge. And we make that trip 3-4 times a week, so it is getting old already. If we can find a place that is comfortable and safe, we are hoping to move in January. We'll see.... Gotta get back to work. This is clean house day!

Yahoo, first commenter (do I win a prize) Hey a boring week there is still pretty exciting to us! So thanks for taking the time to post. So happy about the car. That will make life easier. A bummer you missed the assembly (and we missed seeing pics of the assembly hall) but there will be a next time and you'll be better prepared. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThank you Tricia...you're a good girl. Of course, we all already knew that. By the way, you did mean Paul and I have a 4-runner didn't you. After all possession is nine tenth of the law. So is yours as nice as ours? Just kidding, all Paul's done is drive it around the block so it doesn't just sit. And Deb is right, your quiet week is still exciting to us...so please don't ever think you don't have anything worth posting. Love Ya :)
ReplyDeleteI think your week was a good one. You also have sunshine which we haven't had for days. Glad to hear you got wheels! That always helps. Keep going with the studies. Thanks for posting your quiet week. I always look forward to it.
ReplyDeleteYes...I agree with everyone else...whether or not it is exciting to you we ALL look forward to your posts. Glad you got a vehicle you are happy with. Looks nice! I was away for a few days visiting my "kids"...their circuit assembly is this coming weekend. Had a nice time with them. Sounds like this move of yours is looking more and more permanent??? Miss you and love you too!
ReplyDeleteI just got caught up after not checking in for awhile. I love the account of the sister commenting at meeting and using Jehovah's name before studying. I'll watch for further updates on her. There's a lot of snow in the U.S. right now, so appreciate the warmth there. Hope you find the apartment that you want. Love you! thanks for the blog.
